Surrealism
Surrealism defines an art movement that was founded in 1924 by the French poet and art theorist André Breton and has its focus in France.
Surrealism sought its reality in the unconscious and strove to capture dreams, images and thought associations of the imagination. He was significantly influenced by Sigmund Freund`s insights. The works of art of surrealism are characterized by depictions of bizarre, wide landscapes, grotesque dream creatures, spooky, strange figures and structures, as well as attention to detail.
