The Siberian Husky originally comes from northern Siberia. For thousands of years it was an indispensable companion for the nomadic people living there. In 1909, Siberian fur trader William Goosak and his small, relatively dainty dogs entered the All Alaska Sweepstakes sled dog race. He was smiled at because of his "little dogs". Goosak took third place in this demanding race. The following year, John Johnson won with equally small dogs. The other two teams of "Siberian Huskies" entered took second and fourth place. Breeding was then established in Alaska in 1910 by the Norwegian musher Leonard Seppala.
DescriptionThe Doberman is an elegant heavy pinscher-type dog, smooth-haired, the glossy coat is black with dark brown or reddish-brown markings. Other colors that are not allowed to breed in Germany: isabell, blue and white. The ears are medium-sized, rounded and hanging. In the past, tail and ears were often docked, which is now banned in most European countries. The Doberman breed strives for a medium-sized, strong and muscular dog that, despite all the substance in the body lines, shows elegance and nobility.
UsageWith sufficient training, the husky is able to pull nine times its own body weight. With this characteristic, he has become a vital livestock and family member of the Inuit. Puppies are raised in the home with their own children, which created the people- and child-friendly characteristics of the huskies. They also had to obey everyone because the sleds weren't driven by just one man. That's why only the most obedient and friendly dogs were used for breeding. Huskies have an excellent sense of direction, which means that they never stray from known paths, even when they are no longer visible through the thick layer of snow.
