The Persian greyhound is characterized by a muscular, lean physique. Originally the Saluki was bred for gazelle and rabbit hunting, as it can contribute to the family's sustenance, it is highly valued and considered a member of the family. The Bedouins started breeding the Salukis before the famous Arabian horses.
