PGA Championship

The PGA Championship is organized by the PGA of America as part of the PGA Tour and is one of the four major golf tournaments. They were first fought in 1916 at the Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, New York. Jim Barnes, an Englishman living in America, won it. Traditionally, the tournament takes place in August at different courses in the USA. The tournament was held as a match game until 1958 and since then as a stroke game over 4 rounds.

Other major golf tournaments include the US Masters, US Open and The Open Championship.
