Career

Jersey played as a child growing up on the island of Jersey,
a little golf. In his teens he was inspired by his brother Tom and
eventually began his career as a professional golfer.

He was the first in his guild to play in knee breeches. Harry Vardon won in 1896
his first of six Open Championships and was an international celebrity in 1900
in the Gulf, who traveled to the United States. Harry Vardon has now played golf in more than 80 matches
and won at the U.S. Open every year. At the age of fifty, he graduated from this
Major tournament second place.
He won 62 times in his career. He managed his grip with
to make his name so popular that today it is still used by over 90% of all
golfer is used.
To date, no one has equaled Vardon`s 6 wins at the Open Championship.
Harry Vardon designed several golf courses in Great Britain and
in his later years also engaged as an instructor and author of golf books.
After the death of Harry Vardon, the PGA created the Vardon Trophy, which is awarded annually
to the PGA Tour player with the lowest batting average.
In 1974, Harry Vardon was among the first golfers to enter the newly created
World Golf Hall of Fame inductees.
