Career

Nick Faldo is one of the best golfers of all time in Europe.
He also belongs to the group "Big Five".
This consists only of world-class golfers who were born within twelve months, represented Europe worthy and competitive in the Ryder Cup and have won at least one major.
Other members include Ian Woosnam, Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer and Sandy Lyle.
He led the official world rankings for 98 weeks and won the Open Championship and the US Masters three times during his career.

Winner of the English Amateur and British Youth Championships in 1975 and promoted just a year later. He started playing professionally and was quickly successful.

Ranked 8th on the European Tour Order of Merit money list, Nick Faldo was back in 1977 and qualified for the Ryder Cup as the youngest player.
A year later he had jumped up to 3rd place in the rankings despite winning one tournament in each of the two years.
He soon became a permanent member of the true European elite and ultimately won the European Tour Order of Merit in 1983.
Nick Faldo tried his hand at the majors but couldn`t really score and decided to improve his golf swing under the tutelage of David Leadbetter.
Four years later he was finally able to reap the rewards of his hard training with a win, or rather his first major title, at the Open Championships.
This was the starting point for his later career as Nick Faldo`s best years were to follow and lasted into the early 1990`s.
He became number 1 in golf and won, among other things, the Green Jacket en suite in 1989 and 1990.
He also triumphantly won the Open Championship in the same year and only two years later the European money list again.
With his huge success, it was not surprising that he broke the world record for earnings of over £1.5 million.

In 1995, the US PGA Tour attracted his attention because 3 of the 4 majors were to be held in the USA.
His plan seemed to work and he won his third Masters despite falling 6 shots short of opponent Greg Norman in the final round.
However, luck stayed with him and he ended up beating Norman, who seemed to be having a very bad day, by a comfortable margin.

However, Nick Faldo quickly realized that he would not be able to maintain this high level for very long and therefore decided to look for lucrative activities off the golf course. A little later he developed his own golf fashion brand or, as his predecessors had already done, the design of golf courses.
He shone again in 2003 with an eighth place.
Three years later, in October 2006, CBS hired him as their lead golf analyst.
He is also employed as a technical commentator for the Golf Channel.

His prize money to date is around £10m, but that`s just Nick Faldo`s earnings from active golf.
Along with sports greats such as David Beckham and Robbie Fower, he is also one of the richest athletes in Great Britain.

Nick has a record attendance of 11 and has often played a key role in winning, making him one of the most successful Ryder Cup players.
With his 46 matches played, he also holds this record
