Career
Severia Seve Ballesteros learned to play golf at the age of seven.
The talent for golf was also passed on to the rest of his family as all his 3 brothers are also golf professionals.
He married in 1988 and has three children with his wife.
The former professional golfer is also highly regarded and belongs to the group "Big Five".
This consists only of world-class golfers who were born within twelve months, represented Europe worthy and competitive in the Ryder Cup and have won at least one major.
Other members include Ian Woosnam, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer and Sandy Lyle.
Severia Seve Ballesteros created a match called the Seve Trophy, modeled after the Rider Cup. A tournament between continental Europe and Great Britain.
He also designed or revised golf courses, including the Crans-Montana, which was subsequently named after him and on which the European Masters are held today.
In the meantime, Severia Seve Ballesteros has turned 50 and has decided to take part in the Senior Tour. His first appearance will probably be at the golf tournament in Birmingham/ Alabama on May 14, 2007.
