In 2004, approximately 7.5 million people professed the Baha`i faith. The approximately 7.5 million members live primarily in India, Iran, South America, sub-Saharan Africa and the USA. With around 2.2 million members, India has the largest Baha`i community in the world. In terms of population, the Baha`i communities are often very small - almost everywhere they are below one per thousand. According to the Baha`i International Community, the Baha`i come from 2112 ethnic groups.
