Milla Jovovich was born in Kiev in 1975 and spent her childhood in Ukraine. After moving to Los Angeles with her family, she began modeling at the age of 12.
She was soon to be seen in all international fashion magazines and became the most coveted face of the cosmetics group L`Oréal.
A year later she took on her first film roles. She made her screen debut in "Two Moon Junction", but only caused a stir with the film "Return to the Blue Lagoon".
She also took on the role of Mildred in "Chaplin" but took a break that same year, 1992, to pursue her singing career. In 1994 and 1997 she released an album of self-written songs. This earned her praise from Rolling Stone Magazine and MTV.
She made her big leap into film in 1997 with the help of her husband, Luc Besson, who cast her as the lead in The Fifth Element opposite Bruce Willis.
With this science fiction film she had her final breakthrough in Hollywood. Two years later she could be seen as the militant Maid of Orléans in the historical film "Johanna von Orléans".
With her interpretation, she set new standards for the French national heroine and won over the audience with her talent.
After Wim Wenders` film "The Million Dollar Hotel", "das Reich und die Herrlickeit" and a short guest appearance in "Zoolander", she had her greatest success to date with the film adaptation of the console game "Resident Evil".
In 2004 the sequel to the shocker "Resident Evil - Apocalypse" was released in our cinemas and the third is scheduled for release this year. The audience is already excited.
