| Miramar Air Base in Southern California. The US Navy trains its best naval aviators here. The hard training program is called "Top Gun". Anyone who comes here and perseveres belongs to the elite. Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) and his friend, the radar officer "Goose" (Anthony Edwards) want to be the best. One of their most serious competitors is "Iceman" Kazansky (Val Kilmer). collects privately "Maverick" scores heavily with the beautiful Charlott (Kelly McGillis), his astrophysics instructor.
