Wood is one of the oldest materials from which toys are made. Even our ancestors played with wooden toys. The first wooden toy productions took place in the low mountain range and in the Alps. Since these toys were very expensive, initially only the rich and noble could afford the luxury of wooden toys. The industrial production of toys finally began at the beginning of the 20th century. Now, at last, wooden toys were affordable for even the average family. Although plastic toys are now widespread around the world and are offered very cheaply, the classic wooden toy still has a firm place on the toy market.

Wooden toys have many positive properties. For example, they do not pollute the environment when they are created. In addition, wooden toys are usually very stable and durable. In an emergency, the toy can be repaired with a few drops of glue.
