Gambero Rosso (Vini d'Italia)

Gambero Rosso is actually an Italian publisher that publishes the wine guide "Vini d'Italia", a wine guide for Italian wines on an annual basis. Colloquially, however, in the meantime only "Gambero Rosso" is spoken, which means the wine guide. Today it is considered the undisputed standard work for Italian wines.

The wines rated in the "Gambero Rosso" are considered to be of above-average quality. For the evaluation, independent experts taste the wines in blind tests.

To mark the quality, wine glasses are assigned:
A wine glass stands for "good" wines,
Two wine glasses stand for "very good" wines,
Three wine glasses is the highest mark and stands for "extraordinary" wines.

Since the 2002 edition, wines that were allowed to take part in the final for "Three Wine Glasses" but did not get the "Three Glasses" have received "2 red glasses".
