Dirk van de Niepoort

The family business Niepoort only produced port wines until 1979. Dirk van der Niepoort discovered his interest in top wines. He acquired the Quinta de Napoles and Quinta du Carril estates, some of which had very old vines. A red wine and a white wine from autochthonous varieties are produced under the name "Redoma". The red wine "Batuta" is pressed from old vines and matured in barriques.
