Video editing software

Video editing software is special software that can be used to edit and modify digital or digitized video and audio material on the computer. If the video material is not yet available in digital form, for example from an analogue camcorder, it still has to be transferred to the PC. This is made possible by various interfaces. If the source material is analog, the video is fed into the computer via a so-called S-VHS input. Most modern graphics or TV cards offer such interfaces. If you have a digital camcorder, you can import the film material directly into the computer via a Firewire or USB connection and then edit the data with the video editing software. The processing on the computer is ultimately carried out by so-called Codecs made possible. These convert the image material into computer-readable data, for example MPEG2 or DV AVI .
