Time

The time is divided into hours, minutes and seconds and defines the exact time of day. Of course, there are other finer subdivisions of time, down to nanoseconds and microseconds. However, these are mainly used in the scientific field and are not necessary for normal, everyday time determination. The day is divided into 24 hours, each hour into 60 minutes and each minute into 60 seconds. In Europe, the 24-hour display is common, which means midnight is defined as midnight. In the USA, New Zealand and Australia, however, the 12 hour display is common, it is provided with additional information behind the time. Either a.m. = Ante meridiem or p.m. = Post meridiem, when a.m. denotes the period from midnight to 11:59 noon, p.m. denotes the period from noon to 11:59 p.m. The exact time is read from the atomic clocks, because these are the most accurate timers currently available. As a rule, these have a deviation of only 1 second within 300,000 years. The radio clocks also get their time signal from the atomic clocks, in Germany this is in Braunschweig in the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB for short. Switzerland also has such an atomic clock for timekeeping. Depending on the geographical location, there is a time difference, which is regulated by the 39 time zones.
