Skiboot

A ski boot is a special shoe that you need for skiing. It creates the connection between the skier`s foot and the ski. In addition, it protects the foot and gives it support, so that the wearer can apply the necessary power to the ski to change direction. Depending on the type of skiing, for example alpine, cross-country skiing or snowboarding, there are suitable ski boots. On the ski itself there is a special mount for the ski boot, the so-called Binding . The ski boot is latched and locked into this, in the event of a fall there is a safety device that releases the ski boot again to avoid injuries. There are 2 main groups into which the ski boot can be divided, once the hard boots and the soft boots .

Hard boots:

have a hard plastic shell on the outside called a "shell" and a padded soft inner shoe on the inside. The shoe is closed with buckles that are attached to the outer shell. This fixes the foot in the inner shoe and thus reduces the risk of injury from twisting the foot. A joint in the shell allows the foot to move in the direction of travel.

Soft boots:

have only been on the market for a relatively short time and are an alternative for "leisure time riders", as hard boots are often felt to be uncomfortable and can also cause pressure points depending on the situation. They do not have a solid outer shell and achieve stability through a tight lacing similar to boots, but due to the lack of fixation of the foot for alpine skiers (downhill skiing), they are only recommended to a limited extent.
