Biological definition:
The term organ is from the Greek word orange = derived from a tool, and designates a part of the body designed for special tasks, both in humans and in animals. Certain parts of plants are also called organs in biology. An organ can be imagined as a self-contained unit with a specific task. Organs and their functions are in turn connected to other organs. These many connections among each other, also called organ systems, then form the so-called organism . This applies equally to animal and plant life. Examples of organs in humans or animals would be the heart, liver, kidneys or lungs, etc. In the case of plants, for example, roots, flowers or shoots are defined as organs.
Legal definition:
The term organ is also used in the legal sense. Here the term refers to a number of people who are entrusted with a task regulated by law in the area of ??corporations, state, municipalities, associations or companies. Examples of this would be a board of directors, managing director or a supervisory board. Organs that act on the "order" of the state are accordingly referred to as State Bodies designated.
