Internetradio

As Internet Radio or web radio refers to radio broadcasting that is based on the Internet. This is usually transmitted as audio streaming either live or with a time delay. The transmission capacity depends on how many stream slots are used. Some broadcasters work with several hundred thousand or even millions of stream slots. Just as with classic broadcasting, Internet radio stations require a broadcasting license in accordance with the Interstate Broadcasting Treaty. In order to be able to receive web radio, you need a computer with a sound card and speakers or headphones, special software (e.g. Real Player, Windows Media Player or Winamp) and a fast Internet connection to avoid data loss or disruptions in data transfer. With streaming, the data is only transmitted over a data line for viewing and not moved from one physical medium to another as with downloading. From a legal point of view, the music data is only transferred and does not change hands.
