Browser

The browser is a program that makes it possible to search for documents written in standard HTML format on the WWW (World Wide Web), retrieve them and display them on a screen. However, not only text can be displayed using a browser, multimedia documents such as graphics, images, sound and video sequences are also displayed. In contrast to an editor, the objects displayed in the browser can no longer be changed. The current most popular browsers are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Netscape Navigator and Opera.
