The Pastor Garafiano is a Spanish dog breed not recognized by the FCI. This dog breed, originally from Palma, has been officially recognized by "La Real Sociedad Canina de España" (translated: "Royal Canine Society"). It is about the "Pastor Garafiano", which takes its name from the north-western municipality of the island of La Palma. The dog is relatively common on the island. Even in hard-to-reach pastures, he guards the herds of goats. It looks similar to the German shepherd, up to 64 cm and 35 kg in weight, but visually it is less bulky, it has lighter and longer fur. He is a pure workhorse, not very aggressive, he impresses with his size alone.
