Sandstone
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed mainly of feldspar and quartz. The rock is strengthened by cementing the individual grains of sand with the help of a binding agent.
This mineral is very resistant to weathering and is also found in other rocks. Due to the typical layering, sandstone is quite loose and comparatively easy to work on. It is therefore a rather soft rock material.
Thanks to these properties, sandstone is often used as a building material for sculptures or for paving. Sandstone comes in many different color variations due to the high proportion of sand, which comes in different colors.
