Dolomite
Dolomite belongs to the limestone family, but it is darker in color than other limestones due to the high proportion of magnesium-calcium carbonate. In addition to the sugar-grained appearance, the dolomite is usually fossil-free.
Dolomite is formed by the chemical transformation of calcite into dolomite spar containing magnesium. The dolomite can usually be found in the colors brown, gray and dark grey.
Dolomite is often used in floor coverings or paving stones.
