Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is a ball sport closely related to volleyball. Beach volleyball has its roots in the United States and was created as a fun sport. Beach volleyball has been an Olympic discipline since 1996.
Beach volleyball is a return game played outdoors on sand. Two teams of two players each play volleyball with one or both hands over a net. The aim is to hit the ball over the net into the opponent's field in such a way that the opponent can no longer properly play it back. A game is played over two sets. A set needs 15 points (internationally 21 points), with a two-point lead being mandatory. The team that wins two sets is the winner. A third set (after 1:1) is always decided at 15 points.
