Political parties

A political party is an association of people who have similar political goals and ideas. The aim of the merger is to strive within the state (the more comprehensive political association) to occupy political power and the corresponding positions in order to realize one's own material or ideal goals.

As a rule, a party has a party leader with two or more deputies. The party secretary or general secretary and not the chairperson is responsible for regular contacts with the members and for the organization of the party.

Essentially, the political party has three main tasks:

Aggregation function:
In order for interests to be taken into account in politics and for the necessary decisions to be made, the party must collect the various interests. Collecting or piling up means aggregare in Latin, hence the term: aggregation function

Recruitment function:
The party recruits staff. This means that people are elected within the party who represent the party in parliaments and other institutions and make decisions there.

Legitimation function:
The political party legitimizes the exercise of power in its state. Their task is to ensure that power and rule in the state is exercised lawfully and that the political order is accepted.
