Optics

Optics is part of physics. It deals with the formation as well as the propagation and absorption of electromagnetic radiation, especially light.
There are different types of optics:

  • geometric optics:
This is how phenomena occur in which the wave character can be neglected.
e.g. refraction, rectilinear propagation and reflections

  • Wave optics or physical optics:
Processes that exhibit the wave nature of light.
    e.g. diffraction, polarization and interference

  • Crystal look or metal look:
Shows the behavior of electromagnetic waves in crystals
    or reflections on metals.
