Agronomy
Agronomy (Greek: agro = field, field and nomos = law) deals with the methods of soil management and plant production. Agronomists study plants and soils as well as the relationships that exist between the two. The main tasks of agronomy are to develop new methods to increase crop yields, improve crop quality and increase effectiveness and profitability.
Agronomic research has developed new varieties of disease-resistant plants and techniques for selective breeding and the use of chemical fertilizers
