Confucianism

Confucianism (Chinese: "ideas of the followers of the school of scholars") is the term for philosophies and political ideas that are in the tradition of Confucius and his disciples.

Confucianism is considered a practical and moral philosophy. His main concern is the embedding of the individual in the family and the state and the teaching of morality in the sense of Chinese tradition.

The main pillars of Confucianism are the five virtues: righteousness, Conscientiousness, honesty and reciprocity (in the sense: "Do not do to others what you do not want someone to do to you!") From these virtues three social duties for humans are derived.

These are loyalty (meant: "loyalty to subjects"), filial piety (means "reverence for parents and ancestors") and respect for decency and morals (includes all manners, both among people such as politeness and etiquette as well as between people and the supernatural world in ceremonies and sacrificial rites).
