The name Chapoutier has existed in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor Chapoutier was the first to start buying up vines, going from being a farm vine grower to being a winemaker, grower and trader. The pioneering spirit was already anchored in the family back then.
Seven generations later, Michel, in his forties and with a passion for the expression of the soil, is found at the head of this extraordinary wine region, deeply rooted in history and traditions. By choosing different turning points, this young and determined man has managed to create a connection between the past, courage and creativity.
