Goulburn Valley

In the Goulburn Valley in the Australian state of Victoria, wine production has been centered around the town of Tahblik with its eponymous château for the last century. Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown here as the predominant red wines. While the Riesling dominates the white wines.

The Goulburn Valley stretches from Seymour in central Victoria up to the Murray River.

Warm summers and lots of rain make this region very fertile - apples, pears, peaches and other stone fruits are grown in addition to wine.
