S Dielfraili

S' Dielfraili wears the robe of a wine farmer, a blue blouse, a black skirt, a red patterned apron and sturdy shoes. The wooden mask shows a woman's face smiling insidiously. The Dielfraili wears a "Schaüb" on its head. These are bundles of straw cut to the same length that were used in ancient times to tie the vines. S'Dialfraili is always accompanied by the Galli.

Story of the Dielfraili
According to legend, the Dielfraili was up to mischief in the "Diel" vineyard. It appeared and terrified those who lingered in the area for too long. In earlier times, the carnival figure of Dielfraili was a relatively wild figure and, like the city animal, was carried oversized under a blue cloak in front of the parades.
