Heteronomy

Heteronomy is the foreign legality or determination and means the dependence on foreign influences or on the will of others.

In the philosophical sense of Immanuel Kant, however, the term "heteronomy" does not mean unrestricted heteronomy that would no longer know any personal responsibility. Heteronomy can also be chosen by yourself.

In psychology, one speaks of heteronomy when there is a dependency on people or illnesses, which means that a person can no longer make decisions of their own free will.
