Ecotrophology

Since the 1960s, ecotrophology (Greek: oikos=house, trophé=nutrition and lógos=teaching) has been an independent interdisciplinary subject of household and nutritional sciences (EHW for short) at universities and technical colleges in Germany.

Nutritional science combines the social sciences (people and their environment), natural sciences (procedures in nutrition and digestion) and economics (economic relationships) in an interdisciplinary manner.

Each university maintains its own profile, in addition to nutritional science, some universities also have trophology = nutritional science.

There are the two spellings Ökotrophologie is also Oecotrophologie.
